BUNKERS PRESENTS: THE EAGLE CLUB
Below is a list of members who have played well enough, or been lucky enough, to score eagles this season
kev murphy
eagle - 3rd hole [par 5] - bromborough g.c - 07/05/17
The 3rd hole at Bromborough GC is a slight dogleg right and on this particular day was playing into a firm breeze. At 481 yards from the yellow tees - its not the longest hole in the world but requires accuracy from the tee and therefore is indexed as S.I 7 on the card. Kev hit his drive 274 yards into the wind [we know this form his GameGolf GPS tracker] and then a beautiful 4-iron was lasered 194 yards to come to rest just 5 feet from the pin. A slick put was dispatched to give him another excellent Eagle.
craig evans x 2 [yes! x 2]
eagle No1 - 2nd hole [par 4] - stockport g.c - 20/04/17
EAGLE no2 - 6TH HOLE [PAR 5] - stockport G.C - 20/04/17
Now, as if an Eagle isn't hard enough to get - to get two of them in the space of four holes is just taking the mickey and absolute credit where it's due here, as its rare enough to see the Pro's 'on tour' manage this little rascal.
The first of the pair saw Craig hit a storming drive over the right fairway bunker and left himself an 86 yarder. He hit a 54 degree wedge that never left the pin from the moment it left the club face. It came down 6 inches shy and with 1 hop and it dropped majestically into the hole.
The second came on the par 5 6th hole and again a drive that was ripped down the middle of the fairway. This left Craig 206 yards to the pin and he took a utility that ran to 10 feet passed the pin and left him putting for his second "Eddie" in 4 holes. From the moment the putter kissed the back of the ball it was on its way to its rightful home.....deep at the bottom of the cup.
