how points are scored
The 2017 Order of Merit has been changed to reflect the views of our members and to ensure that good consistent golf is rewarded. These changes are in line with agreements at our A.G.M in November 2016.
Less emphasis is placed on attendance and bad rounds will not have such an effect on total scores. Also the double points system for our Majors has been scrapped - meaning it is consistency across the entire season that is rewarded.

- Points will be awarded for the top 10 places at each event as follows:
1st place = 15 points
2nd place = 10 points
3rd place = 8 points
4th place = 7 points
5th place = 6 points
6th place = 5 points
7th place = 4 points
8th place = 3 points
9th place = 2 points
10th place = 1 point
2nd place = 10 points
3rd place = 8 points
4th place = 7 points
5th place = 6 points
6th place = 5 points
7th place = 4 points
8th place = 3 points
9th place = 2 points
10th place = 1 point
- The best 8 finishes from each member throughout the season will count and the others will be disregarded. If members don't play 8 games within the season [thats 50% participation] then they will not accrue enough points to be in with a chance of winning Bunkers Order of Merit.
Working Example:
Player A attends 10 events during the season and finishes in the following positions.
10th - 6th - 11th - 16th - 4th - 10th - 2nd - 8th - 6th - 1st
The two positions outside the top 10 are disregarded. Therefore for their placed positions they have earned 47 points from their 8 best finishes in the season.
Average stableford scores will be shown in the table purely for your information only. We hope that this will keep the Order of Merit interesting right the way through to the season finale.
