season closed
13/11/2017: Hibernation begins...
At Bunkers, we don't play as a society through these grim winter months of November-February. Fair weather golfers? Yep, you bet! Winter, for us, is practice and improvement time. On top of this, the committee will be busy booking and organising our 2018 season. Keep up to date with us on Twitter through the close season: HERE |

BUNKERS MASTERS CHAMPION 2017
02/04/2017: The season opener at Dunham Forest Golf Club was eagerly anticipated by all after 5 months without Bunkers golf. As always in early April, it coincided this year with out first Major - The Bunkers Masters sponsored by our great friends at GolfBreaks4U
26 members took part in the event on a lovely sunny spring day to compete for 'the blue jacket'. Some solid scoring throughout, on what is a tricky course that demands accuracy and restraint. The winner after a superb round of golf was Chris Berry, who shot 4 under his handicap to finish with 40 stableford points [our 3rd highest ever points score in a Major] and to walk away with the trophy in 2017. Congratulations to Chris and you can read all about the day and see the photographs and finishing tables HERE |

BUNKERS RETAIN THE TROPHY
25/03/2017: After weeks of build up and practice the Bunkers team set off to Llandudno on 23rd March to play 3 days of competitive golf against our annual foes, The Grimshaw Golf Society. Day 1 at Abergele was comprehensively won 5-1 by Bunkers, and Day 2 was all square at 3-3 making it 8-4 to Bunkers going into the last day. However, The Grimshaw battled hard and fought back to make it a tight finish with Bunkers just nicking it 13-11 to retain the trophy for another 12 months.
Who'd have thought after all the weeks of shocking weather in the build up that we would have enjoyed sunny days and sunburn! Another fabulous trip that is always eagerly anticipated and fiercely fought but in exactly the right way. Sportsmanship, friendship and laughter. Congratulations to the Bunkers Team.
