Our Captain's chosen charity for our 2017 season is Twinkle House based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.
Twinkle House is a local charity that provides one-to-one targeted support, sleep support and therapeutic group classes for children and young people aged 0 to 19 years with Disabilities and Additional Needs to increase their resilience and improve their emotional mental health and well-being. Also providing emotional support, advice and strategies to parents and carers. In addition, they provide other facilities for all to use including; Sensory Rooms, Sensory Hydrotherapy Pool, Therapy Room and a Cafe area.
Each year the Charity needs to raise at least £50,000, just to cover the running costs of the service to be able to support children and young people with special and additional needs for free. Every penny is used to help support the services they so valuably provide.

- 24 supported sessions each week (mainly with individuals, some sessions with groups)
- They are open 49 weeks of the year (including all school holiday periods)
- Equating to 1,176 sessions provided per year
- It costs the Charity approximately £25.50 to run each session (without staffing costs). Most of the money is taken up by the charities premises costs, which are very difficult to get grants for.

Our aim is to try and raise as much money as possible throughout out 2017 season with the closing date set as 31st October.
