Bunkers Golf Society feature in a society golf special in the UK's leading monthly golf magazine Today's Golfer.
The lads were followed on Day 3 of our trip to North Wales to host our Annual Invitational and the magazine caught up with us on North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno.
The intention of the feature was to show people that societies can be set up and run with a bit of hard work and dedication. When we contemplated this in 2012 we couldn't find much information about where to start and what needed to be done. We made the journey on our own and fumbled our way towards where we are now. Of course, we made mistakes and we will continue to do so. But it was a steep learning curve and the one thing that has always remained constant is that we want to strive to be the best society that we can be. As a society, and the committee within that, we can only do so much - the rest is down to the members. Bunkers Golf Society is so special because of this.
People are immediately warmed to the good humour and warmth of members and welcomed with absolute open arms. Sure the banter maybe cutting and the laughter [at someones expense] may be loud, but beneath everything is a respect and consideration for each other and the game and a willingness to help make this society everything it is today.
So what now for Bunkers?
Well, we never want to stand still....we want to develop and work even harder to make this something even more special. A society will NEVER replace a club and nor are we trying to. We want to provide our members with something that runs alongside their clubs and provides them with an alternative and an opportunity to play the best courses in our local area.
As we said when we were formed:

As we said when we were formed:
"Friends united by the game of Golf. Playing. Drinking. Laughing"
We feel we have more to offer. Society golf is growing and people want to know how to run things and what mistakes to avoid. We feel that we can help guide people with this - and ideally via a feature in a golfing magazine or website to show potential future societies what we do and how we do it.
But on top of this, we believe in forming long and lasting partnerships with local golf clubs and companies [professionals, shops and golf related industry] By doing this, it develops and strengthens the local golfing environment for all of us. We believe we can share ways to do this and as such we are looking to work with potential partners and we would warmly invite you to make contact with us to discuss this.
