THE WALL OF SHAME

The Wall has OCD - yes. It loves things in perfect order and forming lovely patterns. Therefore, at Sale Golf Club for our final event of 2017, the Wall decided that it would finish how it started off back at Dunham Forest on our opening event of the season by selecting the same victim. Which is particularly handy as the loser left before a photo could be taken - so we can use that previous one. Excellent. This weeks loser...... Steven Moss. |

There are not many occasions, when the wall can select from such illustrious company but Gathurst gave it that chance. Captain versus President on the day saw both of them capitulate under the weight of the added pressure and both scored a pitiful 26 points to battle it out on a card play off for the mighty bog seat. The Wall stepping in and selected its victim.... This weeks loser...... The Captain, Mr Steven Bradshaw. |

"You can run but you cannot hide" says The Wall. This weeks loser made a quick sharp exit post round [for good reason] but that doesn't mean his grid won't find its way onto the wall. The floating swede of this weeks winner should stand as a reminder to us all - you are never safe!!! Harsh to lose with 26 points, but someone has to, and to be fair the Wall doesn't mind whatsoever. This weeks loser...... Bobby Barrow. |

"Its time for a committee member" said The Wall. Three terrible performances battled it out to put their heads through the bog seat. However, playing golf directly from a night shift was probably not a great idea for this weeks loser. A shell of a man after 18 holes and a carefully selected victim to The Wall. This weeks loser...... Ste Holmes. |

The Bunkers Invitational presented an opportunity for The Wall. A chance to get a guest on here. It took its chance and took a liking to a man who had a torrid time in parts at Lancaster. This weeks loser...... Mark Kmiec [Dan Alexanders guest] |

The Wall wanted fresh blood. It looked at the course at Preston and thought "Who's normally quite consistent and would play well here?......I want them!" Having selected it's victim, The Wall went about dismantling their game for 18 holes, and you can see what he thought about that below. This weeks loser...... Pete Bilson |

The Wall enjoyed the warm smile when this weeks incumbent found himself here previously. So much so, it wanted to see him again. A medal scoring game was always going to give The Wall plenty to look forward too....after all, it knows most of the society can't keep a ball in play with a putter let alone a driver! This weeks loser...... Jimmy Greenwood |

A team event and "The Wall" rubs its hands together with excitement of getting three victims in one. This week it was so torn about who to pick, that there were 4 of the 6 teams who scored 68 points and therefore a count back was required. Eventually, the wall selected Messers Parrish, Long and Gunn for the magical bog seat. Longy is getting a bit of a flavour for this place at the minute!!! |

Some courses just "bully" players; and Wallasey is one of those courses! However, 'The Wall' poised to 'lap-up' whoever faltered. After several great knocks in 2017 - and a handicap drop - it was time the Wall got his hands on this weeks victim. This weeks loser...... Allan Gannon - much to the relief of the Chairman!!! |

The Wall decided that a newcomer was needed, having not seen one since the opening event of the season. It thought long and hard about who was it wanted to fill this very space. It chose well, and judging by his face - its almost like this weeks loser was happy to find himself victim to The famous Bunkers Wall of Shame. "Bog seat please Sir" This weeks loser...... a very happy, Jimmy Greenwood. |

Our last event, the wall said "I like to keep things fresh" and the very next outing, its contradicted itself by ensuring that we have a back-to-back loser. Being on the Wall once is horrible, being on it two times on the spin is soul destroying. As you can see from the Captain's smile, he felt the same!!! Things can only get better for this weeks loser...... Keith Long. |

The wall likes to keep things fresh and Romiley GC was no different with the 4th event of the season seeing the 4th new face - although not a great one!! 10 points front 9 and 10 points back 9 was always going to put him in contention - but if it wasn't for 2 pars on the 17th & 18th [both with a shot] this could have been much, MUCH worse! Gotta put it down to just "one of them days". This weeks loser is Keith Long. |

On a sunny day in in Bromborugh, "The Wall" had a few people in its sights to take the magical bog seat. However, having seen this weeks recipient somehow drive a ball further than most others on the 18th hole - to leave himself 115 yards to the pin; only to then subsequently attempt to kill onlookers with an horrendous "Thomas the Tank" that went flying into the clubhouse wall. After that, there was only one man who's head was going [only just!] through the bog seat. This weeks loser is Dan Alexander. |

Well, well, well.....its not often "The Wall" gets the chance to secure two committee members at once. It was too good to miss. As you will see from the photo below, one member obviously thought that swerving early meant he wouldn't get his ugly grid on the wall - wrong! BANG WRONG!. A dodgy photoshop is all it takes! Did Ste Holmes mention he shot 35 points on his own? Oh dear. This weeks losers are Phil Williams, Ste Holmes and Jimmy Greenwood. |

After a winter doing more work on the range than most PGA Pro's, big things were expected of this weeks loser - by all of his loyal social media followers as much as himself. Was it the nerves of a first Bunkers outing and the threat of the bog seat that loomed large an weighed heavy? Or was it just that he had one of those rounds where its like you've had your arms removed and re stitched on back-to-front? Either way, finishing with 23 points, this weeks loser finds his debut Bunkers outing on the Wall of Shame. #awkward ;-) This weeks loser is Steve Moss. |
