how points are scored
The 2016 Order of Merit has been changed to reflect the views of our members and to ensure that good consistent golf is rewarded.
Less emphasis is placed on attendance or winning events and bad rounds will not have such an effect on total scores.
Points will be awarded from 10 to 1 for the top 10 places at each event and players will receive one bonus point for attendance. The best 8 scores from each member throughout the season will count and the others will be disregarded. If members don't play 8 games within the season [thats 50% participation] then they will not accrue enough points to be in with a chance of winning Bunkers Order of Merit.
Working Example:
Player A attends 10 events during the season and scores the following:

The two lowest scores of 1 and 0 are disregarded. Therefore Player A scores 56 points plus 10 for attendance so 66 points in total.
A player could play in another 5 events and fail to score any points and they would not count but they would receive 5 more points for attendance.
Majors will as always count for double points. Therefore, a win would net 20 points, second 18 and so on.
Average stableford scores will be shown purely for your information only. We hope that this will keep the Order of Merit interesting right the way through to the season finale.
