day 3 - saturday 25th march 2017
maesdu golf club
llandudno, wales
tee times from 10:10am
Format: Two-some Texas Scramble Betterball [Matchplay]
All four players will play their own ball throughout and play for their team in pairs. Both players drive off. The players then decide which of the two balls to play. The chosen ball is played as it lies by the player who struck the shot. His playing partner must drop his ball within 12 inches of where the chosen ball lay - no nearer the hole.
[Each player must have a minimum of 8 drives/tee shots which count throughout the round]
A working example of this format is as follows:
Player A has a handicap 14 and Player B has a handicap of 10 representing Bunkers. They are are playing Player X who has a handicap of 18 and Player Y who has a handicap of 18 representing The Grimshaw.
Therefore the combined handicap for Bunkers is 6 (calculated as 25% of 14 + 10)
The combined handicap for The Grimshaw is 9 (calculated as 25% of 18 + 18)
In match play The Grimshaw will receive the full difference between the handicaps ie 3 shots.
The shots MUST be taken at holes with stroke index of 1, 2 and 3.
Handicaps: The pairs will play off 25% of their combined handicap
Drives: Each player MUST have 8 drives used in the round.
Teams: Will be picked by each teams Captain and will be announced in the bar the night before.
Tee: Players will tee off from the yellows
Food: Grilled Burger, Onions and Chips Post Round
